Urbanisation is the main driving force of environmental change and is closely related to the future of biodiversity. Therefore, urban biodiversity should be protected and enhanced while designing high-density communities, and attention should be paid to how people and nature coexist and interact in harmony. The Bays Precinct used to be an industrial port with a rich historical and cultural background. However, due to excessive industrial development, the composition of urban natural communities has decreased, biodiversity has declined, and urban landscapes have become monotonous. Envirogreen aims to create a place with a rich habitat, which will provide services for the living things, and at the same time, encourage the public to interact with the local community and nature. This project focuses on restoring biodiversity and will use landscape intervention methods (ecological wetlands, green buildings, interactive landscapes, green parks) to create diverse community spaces and realise urban biodiversity to inject the Balmain Peninsula New community value.
