Protect, Restore, Enrich is landscape seeking to regenerate life and biodiversity at White Bay Sydney. The project focuses on the intertidal zone and creating a functional landscape system that supports intertidal life for creatures like, Oysters, Limpets and fish while also creating a vibrant urban waterfront re-connecting people to the waterfront of Sydney harbour. Through a process of remediation over time, the site will be regenerated from a post-industrial concrete site to a thriving ecosystem supporting both human and non-human life. The project regenerates the surrounding hydrology system to capture and filter stormwater creating opportunities for life and preventing polluted water entering Sydney Harbour, while also responding to critical issues like rising sea levels and loss of biodiversity.
The site will re-connect Balmain to Sydney Harbour and create an urban waterfront that restores biodiversity to the water's edge, while enriching people interaction with the waterfront.
